Effective Date: August 22, 2025

At Scripture Study Zone (“we,” “our,” “us”), we believe users should have control over their personal data and online experience. This policy explains how you can manage and delete cookies, adjust browser privacy settings, opt out of tracking, and exercise your GDPR and CCPA rights.

1. Managing and Deleting Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. You can control or remove them at any time.

Steps to manage cookies in common browsers:

  1. Google Chrome
    • Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data.
    • Choose to allow, block, or clear cookies.
  2. Mozilla Firefox
    • Open Settings > Privacy & Security.
    • Under “Cookies and Site Data,” choose “Clear Data” or manage cookie settings.
  3. Safari (Mac/iOS)
    • Go to Preferences > Privacy.
    • Select “Block all cookies” or “Manage Website Data” to remove stored cookies.
  4. Microsoft Edge
    • Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions.
    • Choose “Manage and delete cookies and site data.”

You may also use private browsing or “incognito” mode to prevent cookies from being stored.

2. Opting Out of Tracking

You can reduce or stop online tracking by:

  1. Enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser settings (note: not all websites honor this setting).
  2. Using browser extensions or add-ons (e.g., privacy blockers, ad blockers).
  3. Clearing cookies regularly to reset trackers.
  4. Adjusting ad personalization settings in your Google, Apple, or Microsoft account.

3. Configuring Browser Privacy Settings

Every major browser lets you adjust privacy settings:

  • Limit third-party cookies.
  • Block pop-ups or redirects.
  • Clear history and cached data.
  • Restrict location, camera, or microphone access.

Check your browser’s help center for the latest step-by-step guidance.

If you are located in the EU or UK, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:

  1. Request access to personal data we hold about you.
  2. Request correction of inaccurate information.
  3. Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”).
  4. Object to processing or request restrictions.
  5. Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To make a request, email us at jimrgarrison@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days, unless law allows additional time.

5. Exercising CCPA Rights (California Residents)

If you are a resident of California, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have the right to:

  1. Know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
  2. Request deletion of your personal information.
  3. Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell data).
  4. Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise your rights, email jimrgarrison@gmail.com.

6. Third-Party Cookies Disclaimer

Please note: third-party cookies (for example, from embedded videos, ads, or analytics services) are controlled by those providers. We do not control how third parties use their cookies and disclaim liability for their practices. You may need to visit the third party’s website or adjust your browser settings to manage those cookies.
